The 127th running of the Irish Derby was held on Sunday 28 June 1992 over 1 mile 4 furlongs of The Curragh. Subscriptions were £8400 with a first prize of £354,500. The winner was owned and bred by Mrs Virginia Kraft Payson, trained by Jim Bolger at Coolcullen, and ridden by Christy Roche. The winner won by an impressive 12 lengths in 2 minutes 25.6 seconds, with a length between second and third.
